In May, the Swiss textile industry gathered for the third edition of the Swiss Edition NRP Sounding Board at Isa Sallmann AG in Amriswil in the Swiss canton of Thurgau. This edition of the event focused on topics including sustainable “Swiss-made” textiles, circular production models, and the transfer of knowledge and experience across the Swiss textile industry.

Among the participants were representatives from Swiss Textiles, Frilo Swiss Made, Swiss Fair Trade, Remei, NIKIN, Botanitex, Nettle Circle, and Circular Clothing, reads a statement. The Sounding Board is organized by Schwyz Next and WE ARE ZRCL AG.

Like previous editions, this latest event once again focused on facilitating practical knowledge transfer between manufacturers, brands, associations, and other industry professionals. Among others, participants were brought up to speed on projects and developments such as Circular Clothing’s Cradle-to-Cradle certification, Remei’s digital traceability tool my-trace, and the RE:ZRCL project from WE ARE ZRCL.

A factory tour at Isa Sallmann was the highlight. Here, participants were given insights into textile production as well as current progress in fabric development, material testing, and production processes.

The Swiss Edition NRP Sounding Board, which meets regularly, is a New Regional Policy (NRP) project aimed at developing sustainable, regional, and circular production standards for the Swiss textile industry. It seeks to make these standards transferable. The project partners are WE ARE ZRCL AG, Isa Sallmann AG, Johann Müller AG, SchulerUniformen AG, Remei, and Schwyz Next. The next Sounding Board meeting will take place this fall at Johann Müller AG in Strengelbach in the Swiss canton of Aargau. ce/nta
